Man with Criminal Past Arrested in Weekend Shooting, Police Say
SUMTER COUNTY, SC (WOLO) — A 30-year-old man was arrested following a weekend shooting in Sumter.
Chauncey Antonio Wilson turned himself in at the Sumter County Sheriff’s office Monday morning.
He is charged with four counts of attempted murder, two counts of discharging a firearm into a vehicle and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred when the 26-year-old victim picked up picked up his two children from their mother’s home on Aldoff Circle and left with another man.
Wilson allegedly followed the victim, drove up beside him, and fired several shots into the vehicle, striking the woman’s former boyfriend when he was ‘disrespected.’
His bond hearing is set for Tuesday, May 24 at 8 a.m.
