Mizzell Moves To AD Role At Blythewood

Blythewood logoBLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (WOLO) — Longtime Blythewood High School baseball coach Barry Mizzell is moving up to the athletic director role for the Bengals.  Tuesday the Richland District Two School Board approved Mizzell to be Blythewood’s second athletic director.  He takes over for Vince Lowry, who has served as the Bengals AD since the school opened in 2005.

Mizzell ends up with a 480-243 record as baseball coach.

“I’m very excited to be in a position to work for all of our teams on campus,” said Mizzell about the promotion. “Being here since the school opened, I’ve been able to see the growth in all of our programs over the past 11 years. I’m looking forward to doing what I can to help that growth continue. We have the students, families, and community in place to continue to do very special things with the Blythewood Athletic Department”.
