Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Firing Shots Into Woman’s Vehicle with Children Inside, Police Say

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are searching for a man who allegedly fired shots into a vehicle with a victim and three children inside.

The incident began in the 4100 block of Winter Park Drive when the victim tried to leave the area with her three children, officials say.

The victim’s ex-boyfriend then allegedly jumped on the top of the vehicle and pointed a handgun at the victim.

Officials say the suspect followed the victim to Flamingo Drive where he then allegedly jumped on the car again threatening the victim.

The suspect then jumped off the car and fired shots in the windshield at the victim

The victim was treated at a local hospital for non life threatening injuries.

The children were not injured during the incident, officials say.

Officials say the suspect will charged with attempted murder.
