Two Face Murder Charges in Shooting Death, Police Say

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Two murder suspects have been arrested by deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in connection with a shooting death on May 26.

Jimar Curry, 39, and Darian Young, 26, both of Irmo were acquaintances of the victim, authorities say.

Just before 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 in the parking lot of Crossroads Apartments authorities say deputies responded to a report of shots fired.

When deputies arrived they located the victim near his vehicle shot in the lower body.

The victim was transported to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Investigators discovered that Curry and Young shot the victim after a drug-related altercation, officials say.

Investigators were able to identify Curry and Young through DNA evidence at the scene.

Curry and Young are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
