Watch: Allen Univ. To Honor Victims of Emanuel A.M.E. Church Shooting
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Happening today at 11 a.m., Allen University hosts ‘Mother Emanuel Remembrance Day’ honoring the Charleston Shooting victims.
The service will be held at the Maddie Scott Conference located at 2400 Taylor Street.
The Honorable Rev. Dr. Clementa C. Pinckney, the church’s pastor was a 1995 Allen graduate, Tywanza Sanders, a 2014 Allen graduate and Rev. Daniel Simmons, Sr. is also an alumnus of the institution.
Along with Pinckney, 41, Sanders, 26, and Simmons, 74, the victims were Sharonda Singleton, 45; Cynthia Hurd, 54; Myra Thompson, 59; Ethel Lance, 70; Susie Jackson, 87, and DePayne Middleton-Doctor, 49.
Pinckney most recently spoke at the University’s 2015 Founder’s Day.
