Blowfish Extend Winning Streak To Six Games

6-1-Wil-Crowe-BlowfishLEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (Blowfish) — After back to back games totaling 27 hits, all Lexington County needed tonight was five to knock off the Florence RedWolves.
The game got off to a feisty start, as Coach Jonathan Johnson and Adam Sasser (Georgia) were tossed in the third inning arguing balls and strikes with home plate umpire Chad Dixon.
The ejection of Sasser forced a fluid lineup for Lexington County as they would have to pull Adam Yacek (Miami, OH) from the DH spot, and insert him into first base.
The Blowfish and RedWolves remained knotted up at 1 through 7 and a half innings but in the bottom of the eighth, Lexington County capitalized on a costly error from Florence pitcher Brett Porter (Florida Tech) who sailed a force attempt at third into left field.  Kyle Carruthers (UNC-Ashville) would come around to score the go ahead run on the play.
Lexington County added a second run in the home half of the eighth on a Brandon Johnson (Richmond) sacrifice fly plating pitcher Trevor Bradley (Georgia Gwinnett).
Bradley notched his first win of the season tossing two strong innings out of the pen to close out the RedWolves and continue his hot start to the season.
The win moves the Blowfish’s winning streak to six as they head out on the road to Forest City tomorrow evening.  Pregame coverage begins on z93.1-FM The Lake at 6:50p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 7:05p.m.
