COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Mayor Steve Benjamin and Columbia’s Parks and Recreation Department are giving kids in South Carolina’s capital city a way to stay active as summer begins.

Registration is now open for the seventh annual Drills and Skills Clinics.

Activities get under way June 20 at different parks and recreation centers around Columbia.

The clinics are free, but registration is required.

Organizers say the weeklong clinics give kids ages 6 to 13 a chance to learn basketball, tennis, golf, soccer, flag football and cheerleading and stay active while school is out.

This year, the Drills & Skills Clinics will include two instructional sessions:June 20-24 and July 25-29.
