Webb Selected in 3rd Round of MLB Draft by Milwaukee Brewers

COLUMBIA, S.C. (USC SID) — Braden Webb tongue outFreshman right-hander Braden Webb was selected in the 3rd round of the 2016 MLB Draft as the 82nd overall selection by the Milwaukee Brewers.  Webb was a Freshman All-America selection earlier this week by Collegiate Baseball.  He is 10-5 with a 3.24 ERA.

Webb became the 31st pitcher in school history to reach 10 or more wins with a victory in the 4-2 win over Alabama on May 20.  He allowed just one run on seven hits in six innings with two walks and nine strikeouts. He was the first Gamecock to reach 10 wins since Michael Roth went 14-3 in the 2011 season.

Webb has allowed 41 runs, 34 earned, on 74 hits in 94.1 innings.  He has 123 strikeouts to 46 walks with opponents batting .214 against him
