OCSO: Bond Denied for Man Accused of Tying Victim’s Hands, Feet During Night-Long Assault

Antonio FaireyORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO) – An Orangeburg man was arrested after authorities say a woman was treated for injuries she sustained while she was tied up and assaulted.

Authorities say, 36-year-old Antonio Fairey is charged with attempted murder and kidnapping in connection with the beating of a 27-year-old woman last week.

On Tuesday morning, Fairey taken into custody at a relative’s house without incident, authorities say.

Orangeburg County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to The Regional Medical Center on June 9 in response to a reported night-long assault case.

The victim allegedly told deputies that around 11 p.m. the night before, Fairey became upset after seeing a text message on her phone.

The victim told authorities that Fairey forced her into a room at a King’s Road residence where he tied her hands and feet with shoe strings and parts of an apron.

Then the man began beating the victim, striking her “all over her body” by kicking and hitting her, according to the incident report.

The assaults continued through the night with threats that the subject would kill the woman, adding he would “stick her” before he sliced her finger with a knife, authorities say.

The victim told authorities that she was then able to leave and walk to a nearby relative’s home after Fairey left to work.

”This lady showed great courage and we applaud her for her bravery and pray for her recovery after suffering through this ordeal,” Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. “This other individual is a different matter. I don’t have the words to describe what I think of his actions.”

Bond was denied in a hearing Wednesday morning.

Orangeburg Magistrate Willie Robinson denied bond on Fairey, who was out on a $15,000 bond for a domestic violence case involving the same woman back in March.
