Sumter Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old Girl

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) – A 32-year-old Sumter man is facing charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old in Pinewood on Wednesday.

Authorities say, David S. Stukes was charged with second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

According to the report, the juvenile was visiting cousins at a home in Pinewood when Stukes came into the room and began arguing with the victim.

As the argument escalated, Stukes is alleged to have sexually assaulted the teen despite her pleas for him to stop.

One of the victim’s cousins allegedly told authorities that she witnessed the assault.

Stukes is being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
