SLED investigating 23rd officer-involved shooting of year
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – State authorities are working to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the 23rd officer-involved shooting so far this year.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating the shooting, which happened Friday at Myrtle Beach State Park.
Officials said one man was shot and wounded during a confrontation with a Horry County Police Department officer. The officer was responding to a suspicious vehicle call at the park.
SLED is collecting evidence and piecing together a timeline. More information will become available once the investigation ends.
