Nat’l HIV Testing Day

Columbia,S.C. (WOLO) — It’s National HIV testing day and the Eau Claire Cooperative Health Center, Palmetto AIDS life support and AIDS healthcare foundation team wants you to know your status.

With an estimated 44 percent of the Southern population living with HIV, all four organizations are offering free HIV testing to remind people to get tested. Here in South Carolina alone, Organizers say the number of people infected with the virus is higher than for Americans overall.

” The more people learn about our services the better it is for everyone. Partnering is the best way to spread our  message farther and reach more that need to hear it. Helping reduce the stigma by talking about HIV testing is a happy side effect.”

You can find out your status today at the Waverly Family practice located at 1228 Harden Street during the Color Me Community Backyard Bar-B-Que from 2 this afternoon until 7 this evening.
