OCSO: Woman Robbed At Gunpoint After Giving Man Ride Home
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO) – A 32-year-old Orangeburg man who was offered a ride home is now charged with robbing the Good Samaritan at gunpoint.
Orangeburg County Magistrate Peggy Doremus denied bond on Adriel Morgan who is accused taking the victim’s phone and wallet after she saw Morgan walking along Joe Jeffords Highway and offered him a ride.
The woman told authorities she knew the Harper Street man from a local soup kitchen.
As the woman was dropping the man off at his house on June 22, he pulled out a handgun, authorities say.
The victim then began to fight Morgan, authorities say, but he fled after grabbing her purse that also contained personal papers
He was taken into custody later that day.
