Former Gamecock Rolando Howell Dies at Age 34

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Former Gamecock basketball standout Rolando Howell died Wednesday night at age 34.

As of 12:25 a.m. Thursday, ABC Columbia was still learning the details of Howell’s death.

Howell broke his C5 vertebrae in an accident back in May that left him paralyzed, though it’s not confirmed if his death is related to the May accident.

Howell played basketball at USC from 2001-2004 after a tremendous career at Lower Richland high. He helped guide the Gamecocks to the 2004 NCAA Tournament.
