Watch: CCU Flag Atop SC State House Dome

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– South Carolina’s Governor is celebrating the Coastal Carolina University National Championship win, by placing the CCU Flag atop the State House Dome.
Thursday Governor Nikki Haley was on hand to cheer and honor the CCU National Championship win, Haley says South Carolina is so proud.

Coastal Carolina took home the 2016 baseball national championship Thursday afternoon, after a 4-2 win over Arizona in game three of the College World Series finals.

Thursday’s National Championship is the first in any sport for Coastal Carolina University, as the Chanticleers become just the fourth program from a non-power 5 conference to win a College World Series.

Blythewood’s Andrew Beckwith registered the Championship win, pitching 6.2 innings. He gave up six hits and two runs, though none earned. Beckwith finished 3-0 at the College World Series
