Murder investigation opened after shooting in NE Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies are investigating a murder after finding a man shot to death near Columbia Place Mall.

Officials responded to a shots fired call at in the 7400 block of Pinedale Drive at 10:50 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. EMS transported the victim to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
