Savannah Goes Bananas on Blowfish, Wins 9-1

lex-blowfish.jpgLexington County Blowfish hosted the Savannah Bananas tonight at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

The first game of a home and home series before the Coastal Plain League All-Star break would also be the fifth match up of the year between the two teams. Previous four games were split between the two teams.

Lexington would start USC junior Will Crowe on the mound tonight. He would pitch five complete innings recording seven strikeouts and hold the Bananas to just one run before sitting down. Crowe also had an impressive pick off move in the top of the first inning.

Clemson’s Garret Lovorn would start for the Bananas and pitch a complete game against the fish tonight. He would record two strikeouts and just four hits.

In the seventh, a rally triggered by three consecutive walks led to back-to-back two run RBI’s by Connor Stephens(Jacksonville) & Cal Baker(Georgia Southern) for the Bananas. Savannah would bat around in the seventh and garner six run lead.

Final Score: Lexington 1 Savannah 9

Blowfish will travel to Savannah Saturday to finish out the series before the CPL All-Star break. First pitch scheduled for 7:05 ET.
