Watch: Boating Safety 101 with RCSD

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Headed out to the Lake this weekend, Richland County Deputies have some tips to keep you and your loved ones safe on the water.
Have the right amount of life vests on vessels, also make sure boats have the necessary whistles, make sure the horns work.

Richland County Marine Patrol officials says it’s required boaters have enough life vests on their boat for the total number of people riding.
In addition, officials remind you to never consume alcohol while driving a boat and always carry a fully charged cell phone in case of an emergency.
