Huddle with the Gamecocks during Richland Library’s 20th Annual Pigskin Poets

Gamecocks logo hi-resColumbia, SC– Are you ready for some football? Richland Library is teaming with the Gamecocks from 3 – 4:30 p.m., Friday, July 29 at the Drew Wellness Center (2101 Walker Solomon Way) for Pigskin Poets, which has been a favorite of summer learners for the last 20 years.

Come in your garnet and black gear, and join student athletes from the University of South Carolina’s football team, cheerleaders and Cocky as they huddle off the field for an afternoon of stories, games and autographs.

Part of Richland Library’s Summer Learning Challenge, Pigskin Poets reinforces the importance of setting and reaching goals in an effort to help reduce the effects of summer learning loss. Joining forces with the well-known student athletes encourages children in a very tangible way to keep reading and writing during June, July and August.

So, get rewarded for your continued hard work this summer by having one-on-one contact with your favorite Gamecock stars.
