Alligator Removed From Pond Where Elderly Woman’s Body Found
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) – Wildlife workers have removed an alligator from a pond near a Charleston nursing home although it’s not clear if the creature had anything do with the death of an elderly resident found in the pond earlier this week.
Local media outlets report the alligator was removed by Department of Natural Resources workers on Friday morning.
It was taken from the same pond near the Brookdale Senior Living Center where the body of 90-year-old Bonnie Walker was found Wednesday afternoon after she was reported missing earlier that day.
Charleston County coroner Rae Wooten said earlier it could take six to eight weeks to determine the exact cause of death. She was expected to release more information on the case later Friday.
