Columbia Man Killed in Shooting Saturday Afternoon

shooting-526.jpgCOLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia Police are investigating a shooting that occurred near Palmetto Health Richland Saturday afternoon. One man was killed and another was injured.

The Richland County Coroner has identified the victims as Donquiese Green, 23, of Columbia died of a gunshot wound to the upper body. The coroner said Green died about 30 minutes after being shot.

Officials said the shooting happened in the 3400 block of McGrath Street around 12:15 p.m. Green and another man were hit by gunfire. The other victim is being treated for wounds to the lower body.

Witnesses reported that several males riding in a silver or grey colored vehicle drove to the address, where several people were gathered. The males in the vehicle started arguing with the two victims. That resulted in shots being fired at the victims from the vehicle. Witnesses said the suspects fled the area. Columbia Police are working to identify both the victims.
