Coroner Identifies Drowning Victim on Lake Murray

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The Newberry County  coroner has released the name of the woman found in the waters of Lake Murray Sunday morning.

The body of Judith Horton Walling, 73, was found around 7:18 a.m. Sunday morning by a resident on Songbird Lane, near Macedonia Lutheran Church.

Coroner Craig Newton identified the victim Monday.

Officials with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office said the do not think the woman was in the water for long, and that she had been out riding on a water craft.
