COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Severe weather swept through the Midlands Monday night.

Columbia officials say crews are canvassing the city and working diligently to remove debris and assess damage in various areas.

All motorists are advised not to drive through flooded areas or standing water.

In Lexington and Richland County, SCE&G is reporting that there are more than 5,200 homes without power.
