COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Authorities tell ABC Columbia that multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in a chase through three counties Wednesday morning.

According to Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. Curtis Wilson, 38-year-old Harrison Prince is charged with unlawful conduct towards a child after he took his three-year-old grandson from North Pines Road in Blythewood around 9:30 a.m.

Prince left the area in a black 2016 Toyota Corolla which was spotted by a deputy on patrol, authorities say.

Officials say the chase ended in Chester County when Prince’s vehicle collided with a Chester County Sheriff’s Deputies vehicle on I-77.

The suspect exited the vehicle and fled by foot, but was later arrested.

The child was found unharmed in the car and is in the custody of officials.

Prince is also charged with failure to stop for blue lights; authorities say more charges could be filed.

Prince is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
