Charleston, SC (WOLO)– Accused Charleston Church Shooter Dylann Roof was assaulted in jail Thursday, say authorities.
Roof was beaten in the shower area by another inmate according to the Sheriff.
Roof was beaten in the head and body and suffered minor injuries, say deputies.

An inmate has been named in the assault but will not face charges at this point.
“At the current point, Roof and his attorney have indicated they have no desire to press charges”, said the Charleston County Sheriff.
