WATCH: Hiroshima Vigil

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — It was 71 years ago Saturday that an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima killing 140 thousand people.

While it may have been decades since the deadly blast, the memories still present in the minds of many who gathered Saturday to hold a vigil and erect a peace pole.

Organizers say they hope this will set the tone for a non-violent more peaceful future.
