Third Preseason Practice Lively For SC State
ORANGEBURG, SC (Bulldogs) — SC State continued fall football workouts Sunday (Aug.7) in a live spirited two-hour session. The workout was the third preseason practice and first in shoulder pads for the Bulldogs. Coach Buddy Pough’s team continued to emphasize fundamentals and also worked on some team and individual-style drills.
“We had a chance to see a lot of guys fit in some places we need them to be,” said Pough. “I think we have a chance to have a pretty good football team with the players we have in place at this point.”
“It was good to dress out in shells today because it gave us a chance to have some contact,” said Pough. “Some of the young guys are still getting a feel for what it’s like to practice on the collegiate level. Although, we are still in early phases of the installation schemes our main focus will be helping the newcomers develop into our system moving forward.”
The Bulldogs will conduct its fourth practice Monday (Aug. 8), in a morning session at 9:30 a.m. in helmets and shells, before suiting up in full gear on Tuesday (Aug.9).
SC State will hold its Media/Picture Day, Saturday, Aug. 13, beginning at 9 a.m. The annual “Meet the Players Day,” hosted by The S.T.A.T.E Club, is set for Saturday, Aug. 20 at 12 p.m. More details on these events will be released later.
