Authorities Investigating Inmate Death at Lex Co. Detention Center

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Authorities with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department say they are investigating the death of an inmate at the Lexington County Detention Center.
In a tweet Monday, officials said the inmate was found unresponsive overnight.

The Lexington County Coroner released the name of the inmate Monday afternoon.
Margaret Fisher said the inmate is 43-year-old William Dantzler Day, III, of Gaston.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
SLED and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death.
