SC State Holds First Two-a-Day Workouts

ORANGBURG, SC (SCSU) — South Carolina State conducted its first day of two-a-day preseason drills Wednesday (Aug.10) in a two hour session in full gear at Oliver. C. Dawson Stadium.

Pough called the morning workout, which was conducted an enthusiastic lively session with some of the newcomers showing some toughness.  I am excited about how the young guys are coming along and fitting into our system, Pough noted.

During the afternoon session, the Bulldogs turned their attention to basic installation schemes on offense and defense along with some attention on special teams.

SC State returns to action on Thursday (Aug.11) in a 7:10 p.m. evening practice, before returning back to a double session on Friday(Aug. 12) in a 9:30 a.m. and 7:10 p.m. workout before the first scrimmage on Saturday (Aug.13) at 3:10 p.m.

Also, Pough and redshirt junior quarterback Adrian Kollock, Jr. along with All-American linebacker Darius Leonard was featured on the national syndicated radio show “Sports Talk” hosted by Phil Kornblut.

SC State will hold its Media Day, Saturday, Aug. 13, beginning at 9 a.m. The annual “Meet the Players Day,” hosted by The S.T.A.T.E Club, is set for Saturday, Aug. 20 at 12 p.m. More details on these events will be released later.
