COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–The Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher, says further studies are still needed to determine the cause of death of Lewis Simpkins.
Simpkins collapsed during Football practice Wednesday night at River Bluff High School. River Bluff will not take part in Friday’s Football Sportsarama.

“The results are inconclusive as of now. We are awaiting the test results of several studies that should take several more days to complete. We want to be as thorough as possible in our investigation.” Fisher states that as soon as a conclusive cause of death is determined, those results will be released.
