SC State Holds First Preseason Scrimmage Saturday

Buddy Pough with TeamORANGEBURG, SC (SCSU) – South Carolina State held its first scrimmage of the preseason Saturday (Aug.13) morning, getting in approximately 82 plays during the almost two hour scrimmage at Oliver. C. Dawson Stadium.

“We for through the first scrimmage without any major injuries and that’s always a positive thing during preseason,” said head coach Buddy Pough. The main thing that concerns me is we are lacking in depth and we are trying to use some new guys in certain positions to see if they can help us moving forward.”

Pough noted, “I really enjoy being out here with the coaches and players in preparation for another season of football.

The Bulldogs will be off Sunday, before returning to the practice field Monday with two workouts – an early morning session at 9:30 a.m. in full pads and an evening practice at 7:10 in shells.
