Watch: Muschamp Gets First Win for Gamecocks

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) (AP)– Head Coach Will Muschamp is celebrating his first win as the coach of the Gamecocks. Kicker Elliott Fry scored the game winning field goal with 55 seconds left, and the Gamecocks beat Vandy 13-10 in Nashville. Our Mike Gillespie was in Nashville and has more from Muschamp.

Muschamp started Orth at quarterback and also played freshman Brandon McIlwain.

But it was Orth who went back into the game in the third quarter and threw for 152 yards rallying the Gamecocks to their eighth straight victory over Vanderbilt in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams.

Vanderbilt now is 0-3 in season openers under coach Derek Mason, though his Commodores did manage to score an offensive touchdown in the first half.

The Gamecocks play at Mississippi State, Saturday September 10th,
