Richland County Deputies Investigating Stabbing Death

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ Richland County deputies say a man with a history of violence against his wife stabbed her to death before killing himself.

Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Sgt. Brittany Scott told media outlets that the woman’s brother called 911 on Sunday morning after going to check on his sister at her Columbia home and finding their bodies.

Scott says deputies have a history of responding to domestic violence complaints against the husband.

Authorities say the woman died of stab wounds and it appeared the husband died from asphyxiation, although autopsies have been ordered on both people.

Their names were not released.stabbing222.jpg
