Citizen’s Tips Leads to Arrest of Alleged Thieves

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Two men accused of being a part of several burglaries in Richland County were arrested thanks to the tips from concerned citizens, say deputies.

George Adams, 22, is charged with three counts of burglary 1st, two counts of petit larceny, and one count of grand larceny.

Jimmy Osborne, 20, is charged with three counts of burglary 2nd, two counts of petit larceny, and one count of grand larceny.

The pair was arrested on September 23 on Broad River Road and I-26 after a short chase.

The Sheriff stated that Adams and Osborne are responsible for the following burglaries:

· Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 1800 Luster Lane, 29210 Adams and Osborne broke in to the residence by forcing the front door open. The suspects stole a 32” Samsung Television, 32” Emerson Television, and 42” Emerson Television with a total value at $1,400.00.
· Thursday, September 22, 2016 between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM at 403 Skyland Drive Adams and Osborne gained entry in to the residence by breaking multiple windows, items stolen are a Phillips 46” television valued at $700.00 and a flat screen television, model and value unknown.
· Thursday, September 22, 2016 between 8:00 AM and 1:30 PM Adams and Osborne gained entry to the home by breaking through the rear window of the residence. The suspects stole a 48” Samsung Television, 36” Samsung Television, Dell Laptop with Bluetooth keyboard, gold necklace with 3 diamond tear drop, HP 14” Laptop with a total value of $7,7000.00.

On Friday, September 23, 2016 at 1:30 PM an alert Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the vehicle, a black 2006 Ford Crown Victoria believed to be tied to recent burglaries, police say.

The deputy saw that Adams was the driver with as the passenger as it pulled into the Gaz-Bah convenient store located at 800 St. Andrews Road.

The deputy called for additional units, and as the vehicle left the store a traffic stop was initiated with blue lights.

The Sheriff stated that Osborne refused to stop and gained speed, a chase ensued with Osborne wrecking the vehicle at I-26 and Broad River Road. The suspects fled from the vehicle and were captured a short distance away; Osborne was armed with a handgun and was in possession of marijuana.

Osborne and Adams are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
