Three Claflin University Students Killed in Collision on I-77

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a triple fatality

Richland County, S.C. (WOLO) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a triple fatality. It happened just before six Thursday evening along Interstate 77 near the Killian Rd. Exit.

Troopers say the victims were traveling southbound on I-77 in a Ford Escape when the driver lost control at the wheel, and crossed over into the northbound lanes.

Claflin University confirmed Friday morning that the victims are students at the school. The University said it would hold a prayer service at noon Friday in the fine arts center.
