Mosul Offensive Battle

Mosul, Iraq (WOLO) — Iraq is geared up for a military offensive to take back control over Mosul, The largest city being held by Islamic terror group ISIS.

Some 30 thousand troops are expected to take part in the battle backed by coalition airstrikes. An estimated five thousand ISIS fighters have been in control of the city of around one million people.

U-S Forces have pledged to assist with artillery support and military advice for Iraqi troops.

The operation could take months to complete.
