IRMO, S.C. (WOLO) – After recent national headlines about creepy clown sightings, Midlands residents are steering clear of clown costumes, makeup and masks this year.

Employees at Halloween Express in Harbison say more popular items have been Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton masks, Harley Quinn, of Suicide Squad, costumes, and superhero garb.

Shoppers tell us they’re freaked out by the creepy clowns that have been reported across the country, and if they see a clown this Halloween, they’ll be heading in the opposite direction.
