Alabama Pipeline Explosion Kills One, Gas Shortages Possible
HELENA, Ala. (AP) _ For the second time in two months, millions of people could face a gasoline crisis. Colonial Pipeline was forced to shut down one of its supply lines yesterday after it caught fire, igniting gasoline an explosion that killed one worker and injured a half-dozen others in northern Alabama. In September, Colonial Pipeline shut down the pipeline because of a leak, leading to days of dry pumps and higher gas prices in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas.
