Recreation Commission Board Member Resigns

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO-TV) — A member of Richland County’s embattled Recreation Commission is resigning.

Word of Wilbert Lewis’ resignation comes days before a scheduled public hearing.

Lewis has been a board member since 2007.

Last week Gov. Nikki Haley announced a hearing set for November 30th to address the accusations against the board.

Former Executive Director James Brown III retired from the commission shortly after being indicted on charges related to abuse of power.
