On Monday, former USC star running back Marcus Lattimore was promoted to the role of head coach for Heathwood Hall’s football program, replacing the resigning Steve Victory. The former Gamecock great and program leader in career touchdowns (41) joined the Highlander’s sidelines this season as an assistant coach, while also leading the B-Team to the Region 1-AAA Title in middle school. Now at 25 years old, he’s a head ball coach as Victory is moving to Louisiana for family reasons following two seasons in SCISA ball in the capital.

Lattimore will also serve as HHES’ Advancement Associate, working with the athletic, admissions, and school departments.

Back when Will Muschamp was hired to take over the Gamecocks, he had picked Lattimore to join his staff, but the NCAA would not allow the former garnet and black standout to coach at his alma mater due to his work with “The Marcus Lattimore Foundation” that includes a football camp.
