Clemson Wins Annual Carolina-Clemson Blood Drive

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Between November 14 and 18, the University of South Carolina and Clemson University took part in a campaign aimed at increasing community blood donations prior to the critical holiday period.
This year marked the 32nd annual award-winning partnership and resulted in the first win in nine years for Clemson University.
Students, alumni and fans of both universities showing support for their favorite team by donating blood with the Red Cross.
The challenge was close.
Clemson University has 3,393 supporters donating blood and while Carolina had 3,035 donors.
Clemson University will be awarded the coveted blood drive trophy at the Carolina-Clemson football game Nov. 26 at Memorial Stadium.
Officials say that over the past three decades of the competition, the universities have collected over 100,000 pints of blood.
