Feed an Officer Campaign Kicks Off

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Heroes in Blue’s “Feed an Officer” campaign runs through December 11. Visit a participating restaurants and simply, donate. All donations will be delivered to local departments in Richland and Lexington Counties on December 14th. The idea is to show appreciation for men and women in blue by treating them to a special lunch.

On Sunday, December 4, Forest Drive CrossFit will be hosting a Hero Workout in conjunction with the campaign. Registration starts at 11 a.m. The workout begins at noon. They will run as many heats as they need to allow everyone to participate. The Alia Workout, named for fallen officer Greg Alia of the Forest Acres Police Department, was created by Richland County Sheriff’s Department. On September 30th of this year, deputies and officers from the area did the workout in memory of Greg, one year after his death.
