Driver Killed in Early Morning crash identified
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle collision that left a Winnsboro County man dead.
Troopers said the crash happened Saturday morning on I-77 N at mile marker 20, Columbia.
Troopers said Renardo Q. Wood,29, was driving his 2006 Honda Accord northbound on Interstate 77 when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert, and went up an embankment and then struck a bridge pillar.
Troopers say the driver was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
Richland County Coroner, Gary Watts said Wood’s cause of death is pending final autopsy results.
This wreck is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
