Batesburg-Leesville finished fourth in Class AA Region V, just getting into the postseason. But after four straight roads wins, the Panthers earned themselves a spot in the SCHSL State Championship against 2015 winner Abbeville. Perry Woolbright’s guys oheld a 14-3 lead after the first quarter, but couldn’t keep the defending champs from going back-to-back, falling to the Upper State bracket winner at Charlie W.
