EdVenture host Festivals of Sharing
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– It was a day of celebration form some Columbia kids. On Saturday dozens of children got to celebrate holiday traditions from around the world at EdVenture’s annual Festivals of Sharing.
Children has a chance to experience the festivities from around the world through performance, hands-on activities and story time.
Some of the cultures represented at the festival were Mexico, Italy, Samoa, Thailand, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Peru and India.
A 10-year-old from Peru said she’s excited to share her culture with others.
“It’s been amazing,” Festivals of Sharing attendee, Nicole Craft said. “It’s like their eyes have been opened by the touch of different countries. I’m like a stepping stone to their journey of worldwide knowledge.”
Throughout the day, attendee’s explored the festivities of Hanukkah, Diwali, Festival of St. Lucia and many more hands-on activities, including St. Nicholas reading holiday stories from different cultures.
