Identities Released in Sumter Fatal Wreck

SUMTER, SC  ( WOLO)– Sumter Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident in which two people were killed and another person injured.

Police and Sumter Fire Department officials responded to a crash involving a 1995 Nissan Maxima that veered off the roadway and crashed at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday on Guignard Drive, just south of Liberty Street, Sumter spokeswoman, Tonyia McGirt said.

Terence J. King, 33, of Sumter survived the crash and remains in stable condition at Palmetto Health Richland. He is expected to recuperate.

Both the driver and another passenger died at the scene. They have been identified as Calvin L. Leneau, 34, and Darius Ford, 22, both of Sumter.

The cause of the accident has not been determined.

The Sumter Police Department is continuing to investigate what caused the crash.  Officers with the state Highway Patrol are assisting.
