Artic Blast Turns Deadly
At Least 15 Killed by the Storm
ACROSS THE U.S.–Cold temperatures and freezing rain are expected today for broad swathes of the country, after an arctic blast turned deadly over the weekend. A brutal blast of cold air is bringing bone-chilling winds and subfreezing temperatures to parts of the country. The nasty weather is wreaking havoc on highways leading to fatal accidents and pile-ups. At least 15 people have been killed as a result of the storm. In New-Mexico a 40-vehicle wreck shut down parts of the interstate amid icy conditions. In Baltimore a 55-vehicle crash occurred on interstate 95 leaving at least two people dead. In nearby Virginia there was a flipped tanker. Forecasters say more freezing rain is on the way today from Maine to as far south as Tennessee and North Carolina.
