Business Fire Under Investigation in Lexington

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)- The Lexington County Fire Service is investigating a blaze at a local business.

Lexington County Fire Service and EMS personnel responded to a commercial structure fire reported at the Diamond Pet Food Warehouse, located in the 100 block of Woodtrail Drive in Gaston, just after 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Authorities said upon arrival, fire and smoke could be seen coming from one of the buildings located on the businesses’ campus. Firefighters made entry into the building and were able to contain and extinguish the fire, which occurred in a bagging area.

Before fire personnel arrived, a fire-extinguishing system inside of the building was activated and helped to suppress the fire. 

The fire also spread to one of the business’ silos, which firefighters were able to contain and extinguish, authorities said.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

At this time, there is no damage estimate.
