COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Crews have responded to dozens of fires this season in several areas and according to City of Columbia officials, some of the blazes are considered arson.

Authorities say between November 25 and December 16 the Columbia Fire Department has responded to four fires within less than a mile apart in the Rosewood community.

Based on the evidence at the scene, fire investigators believe that these fires were intentionally set by the same person.

Fire officials are asking the public in the area to report any information or suspicious activity to CRIMESTOPPERS  at (803) 772-2456.

Citizens can also text to CRIMES (274637), and mark the beginning of the message with “TIPSC,” followed by the tip information or go to www.midlandscrimestoppers.com, and click on the “Submit a tip” tab.
