RCSD: Pair Wanted for Stealing Cash, Cigarettes in Armed Robbery

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Deputies are searching for two suspects involved in an armed robbery of a Pitt Stop store.

On December 22 just before 9 p.m., deputies responded to the Pitt Stop located in the 7400 block of Two Notch Road where they say the suspects were caught on surveillance video demanding money and multiple packs of cigarettes at gunpoint.

Deputies say one the suspects grabbed a plastic bag from behind the counter and demanded the victim to put the cash inside.

“When these incidents occur they’re very serious,”Richland County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer, Lieutenant Curtis Wilson said. “They’re very serious to the victims. It’s also very serious to us and we want to find them and put them behind bars.”

A similar situation happened just two days later at a Dollar General on Bluff Road, which is just 18 minutes away.

“In both of these incidences the suspects wore ski mask, similar clothing and brandish firearms,” Wilson said.

The suspects are described as black males, one with a slim build and the other has a medium build; both suspects were wearing black masks over their faces, blue sweatshirts, and dark pants.

Authorities hope by sharing these surveillance videos someone will recognize the suspects.

“Even though these suspects had ski mask on, you can still tell the demeanor, the size, their mannerism, things of that nature,” Wilson said. “When you see that and you think you recognize that individual, we want you to give us a call, we urge you to.”
